Official Flag Burning

Major Jacob Gray Chapter, NSDAR and the Cabot Girl Scout Troop 6897, held a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Chapter member Peggy Whitledge read the special ceremony words and announced each of the first thirteen colonies as their strip went into the flames. Chapter member Lyn Hicks and her husband Ben hosted the ceremony at their farm. Chapter Regent Sharon Bode and Chapter Flag Chair Jonna Parish presented certificates, the Flag Code brochure, and flag bookmarks to the troop. Food and drinks were provided after the ceremony. July 2018 – State Regent Tea at the Jacksonville Museum of Military History

On July 14, women from all over Arkansas traveled to Jacksonville, Arkansas, to attend a tea in honor of the new state regent.
Plantation Agriculture Museum

June 2018 – Trip to Plantation Agriculture Museum, Scott Plantation Settlement, and lunch at Seaton’s Scott Place. On the way back, a few of us stopped at the Marlsgate Plantation.
Purse Museum

March 2018 – Trip to the Purse Museum and lunch at The Root’s Cafe.
