December Meeting

December 12, 2020 – Joe Ann Taylor presented a fabulous talk on her father. Joe George was a young sailor who risked his life at Pearl Harbor to rescue the last six survivors from the sinking USS Arizona. He recently was presented with a Bronze Star Medal of Valor posthumously.
October MJG Book Club
October 31, 2020 – the MJG Book Club met again to discuss The Famous DAR Murder Mystery by Graham Landrum. It seemed to have been enjoyed as a fun read for all who attended. Due to the continued pandemic, we have decided our next meeting will be via zoom. Next books: The Trials of Phyllis Wheatley by Henry Gates and The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Richardson.
September Meeting

September 12, 2020 – Our first meeting this season of Major Jacob Gray Chapter, NSDAR, was held via zoom. Approximately 20 members were able to log in and attend. We are looking forward to being able to meet again even if only virtually. We installed two new members. (Photo Credit to Jayne Spears)
MJG Book Club
June 27, 2020 – Today, Major Jacob Gray Chapter, NSDAR met for the first MJG Book club. We had 8 members who came to discuss Jefferson’s Daughter: Three Sisters, White and Black in a Young America by Catherine Kerrison. We enjoyed lunch while social distancing. Our next book will be The Famous DAR Murder Mystery by Graham Landrum. Our next meeting will be in October.
Covid-19
Unfortunately, towards the end of March 2020, the world found itself facing a pandemic. Covid-19 became familiar to all. Meetings were canceled for the rest of the season. State Conference was canceled. Continental Congress created history by hosting its first online conference.
Heifer International Outing

March 7, 2020 – Major Jacob Gray Chapter, NSDAR, outing to Heifer International in Little Rock, Arkansas. Six daughters met for a tour of the Heifer Village and a tour of the LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) office building. We finished off with a yummy lunch at Cafe 42 (located in the Clinton Presidential Library). (Photo credit to Jessie Johnson).
40th Anniversary Tea

February 8, 2020 – The 40th anniversary tea for the Major Jacob Gray Chapter, NSDAR, was a success. Daughters from the state board as well as daughters from other chapters came to help us celebrate. We had three former regents discuss this history of the chapter. Each one discussed different decades within the chapter. (Photo credit to Jayne Spears, Sharon Bode, and Irene Wilks Gray).
January Meeting

January 10, 2020 – Wonderful NSDAR meeting today at Colton’s Steakhouse in Cabot, Arkansas. Good food!! We also had a program on Colonial era soldiers.
